Art Civil Twilight

Electric Works' new group show serves as the perfect prelude to the year's end. Civil Twilight addresses the opposing forces of destruction and transition, mirroring the larger changes afoot in the urban, political, and environmental landscapes. The exhibition juxtaposes pieces from gallery veterans with works by new faces: LA-based Julie Rofman's stunning paintings of densely tangled materials and warped perspectives; Michelle Blade's huddled silhouettes; Iva Gueorguieva's paint-swept vistas; and the richly textured dilapidation in Katherine Westerhout's photographs of architectural decay.
