Music: Rock/Pop Lucifer's Hammer presents Slough Feg w/ Turambar

In the grand tradition of Celtic folk-metal legends Skyclad and Cruachan, Slough Feg fuse Jethro Tull folkiness with NWOBHM. In addition to their Ren Fest bravado, they've got a fantasy vibe going as well — the SF-based quartet takes its name from a character in British comic Sláne. Denver's Turambar have a darker approach in what they call "Rocky Mountain doom," which is a harsher take on sludgy stoner doom, as if Saint Vitus and Sleep decided to burn churches and eat each other. Tonight should prove to be one of the quirkier and more interesting installments of Lucifer's Hammer, the metal night at Elbo Room.
