Although the band dissolved in the early '80s, the Jam's influence still echoes in the wails, bass lines, and guitar riffs of modern rockers. Blending punk rock, English beat, and a little R&B, the Paul Weller-fronted group helped usher in the mod-rock revival. Now, bassist Bruce Foxton (who was also in Stiff Little Fingers) and drummer Rick Buckler perform with From the Jam, a two-thirds resurrection of the trio's halcyon days. The band shares the bill with Hugh Cornwell, frontman of early-'80s new-wave chart-toppers the Stranglers.
