Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive says…

Commemorating the centenary of Russian cinema, the PFA festival draws from an extensive catalog of films produced at Mosfilm, the most prominent Soviet film-production studio. The selections this festival comprises range in mood, from stark, somber classics like The Battleship Potemkin and The Cranes Are Flying to the playful Carnival Night, one of the films regularly screened in Russia around New Year's Eve. Other highlights include Andrei Tarkovsky's The Mirror, a kaleidoscope of memories recalled by a dying man; and Bed & Sofa, a silent film that daringly portrays a love triangle in the '20s.
