CFI Rafael Film Center says…

The installation Ingmar Bergman: The Man Who Asked Hard Questions explores and celebrates the influential oeuvre of one of the world's seminal filmmakers. In masterpieces such as Wild Strawberries and The Seventh Seal Bergman essentially asked a series of moral and existential questions. The installation's design is inspired by the director's longtime home of Fårö and its name is lifted from Woody Allen's tribute to the director. From a stylized "tree" at its center, multiple projections display film scenes and documentary footage from Bergman's life and work. An extensive retrospective of his films accompanying the exhibit features the uncut Fanny and Alexander, Through a Glass Darkly and and a new print of Sawdust and Tinsel.
