Sure, the summer of love may be long gone, but a day full of smoldering grooves, shared eats, and all manner of beads and beards is still an easy sell in San Francisco. The organizers behind the Frisco Freak Out pay homage to SF's trippy musical heritage by inviting only the heaviest new-psych and freak-folk luminaries to their party. The all-ages, all-day show features the heavy, cosmic sound of Earthless, the hazy but tight assault of Crystal Antlers, and local heroes of the bleary-eyed beat Wooden Shjips. Also on offer: a wide selection of organic eats, and, of course, more bands (Sleepy Sun and Ascended Master, to name a couple).
