Artists' Television Access says…

The revolution may not have been televised, but it certainly was filmed: by 1970, it seemed that filmmakers of all stripes were focusing their cameras on the waves of student-led protests and countercultural unrest that had capped off the preceding decade. Tonight, writer, critic, and filmmaker Christian Divine analyzes this sub-genre of "protest-ploitation" cinema, screening clips from films both well-known (Zabriskie Point) and obscure (The Strawberry Statement). Following his talk, Divine shows The People Next Door, David Greene's melodrama of generation-gap malaise and substance abuse, in all its 16mm glory.
