The seventh annual DocFest features 60 films from around the world, many of which underscore the organizers' affinity for quirky esoterica and oddball tales. This year's selections include David Thayer's Bigfoot: A Beast on the Run, which chronicles the search for you-know-who; Christophe Schaub and Michael Schindhelm's Bird's Nest, a five-year exploration of Beijing's architectural transformation during the ramp-up for the Olympics; and Sean Donnelly's I Think We're Alone Now, which follows two longtime Tiffany fans — an Asperger's patient and a transgender woman — as they prepare to see the '80s pop star in concert. If you need a break from all the vérité, the concurrent Midnight Circus series provides a late-night selection of Japanese cult flicks.
