When Rocky Horror first brought its gender-bending antics and rock 'n roll sci-fi to the stage in 1973, it screamed cult classic. Since then, the show has spawned a beloved midnight movie, worldwide live performances, and an ever-expanding number of fans. This October, Doctor Frank-N-Furter's castle of the naughty and nubile reopens its doors with a live production timed to coincide ever-so-sinfully with Halloween. Local favorite Jef Valentine (Thrillpeddlers, Theatre Rhinoceros) stars as the extraterrestrial mad scientist, and the multitalented Cate Caplin directs. The Mission's historic Victoria Theatre is an ideal venue, ensuring many raucous evenings packed with decadent costumes, audience participation, and onstage debauchery.
