A dark, cavernous room. Ancient curtains quiver over flickering lights. A huddled figure floats from the floor. Organ music swells. A scene from The Phantom of the Opera? Not quite. Rather, it's the Castro Theatre, home of the fourth annual Shock It to Me! Classic Horror Film Festival. This year's diabolical showcase includes Spider Baby, the 1968 tale of a curiously beastly family; George Romero's original, indispensable Night of the Living Dead (1968); Christopher Lee- and Peter Cushing-driven Hammer Studios favorites Horror of Dracula (1958) and The Curse of Frankenstein (1957); and House of Dark Shadows (1970) and Night of Dark Shadows (1971), full-length sequels to the beloved vampire TV soap, presented by stars Kathryn Leigh Scott and Lara Parker.
