The free home-movie clinic and screenings begin at 12:30pm.
Because of their inherent amateurism, home movies have an ineffable quality that transcends the banality of the events they record as well as the intentions of their subjects and directors. In home movies, we perform "the family" as much as we perform for our families. The Pacific Film Archive celebrates these rarely seen performances in all their manifold iterations, from the poignant to the embarrassing, by inviting the public to share their own films. Participants can also have professional archivists inspect and repair their movies, then watch historic footage of SF from the PFA's collection.
