Dance is usually presented in the rarefied vacuum of a ballet hall or carefully lit theater, but Epiphany Productions' SF Trolley Dances has bucked this trend beautifully over the last five years. The company now offers a series of site-specific pieces on the new T-Third Muni route, with Bay Area dance troupes delivering compact performances along the way. Scott Wells & Dancers leads the charge at the Mission Bay Waterfront, playfully engaging the surrounding architecture with dynamic moves, leaping through space and breaking the barriers between art and audience. Later, the Zaccho Dance Theatre contemplates the monolithic Genentech campus, and Epiphany Productions enlivens the Bayview Opera House.
