Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive says…

Terry Zwigoff's sweet and snarky comedy, based on Daniel Clowes' graphic novel of the same name, flew under the mainstream radar during its theatrical release, but soon rose to cult status among comics nerds, disaffected teenagers, and the art-house set. Starring Thora Birch, a pre-fame Scarlett Johansson, and Steve Buscemi as a gloriously pathetic collector of old 78s, the film epitomizes mid-'90s suburban ennui and the hypocritical, ludicrous nature of high school. Tonight, Clowes and Zwigoff, both Bay Area locals, appear at the PFA for a special Ghost World screening, followed by a book signing.
