It's likely that Pittsburgh never thought it would have a citizen described as a pioneer of "laptop rock," but Gregg Gillis (aka Girl Talk) has got the genre down to a fine art. Gillis rewires choice selections of your most beloved — and hated — tracks into mashed-up offerings; he would probably even sample your mother, given the chance. Extreme in both his presentation and content, the extroverted technophile proves a challenge to contain as he unleashes his repertoire of nabbed and stitched-together tunes. Nowhere else can nudism and freakish behavior so fittingly join mind-boggling combinations like 50 Cent and the Pixies, pricking up the ears of pop culture's most ravenous revelers.
