Norwegian songstress Ane Brun may best be described to American audiences as the thinking-Scandinavian-man's Dolly Parton. Brun's blissful vocals evoke the innocence and clarity of a wide-eyed ingenue, but her insightful lyrics dispel any charges of coyness or naivete. The singer's latest album, Changing of the Seasons, is an impressive affair and more accessible than 2005's A Temporary Dive (whose darkness was perhaps the result of her jam sessions with fellow Scandinavians a-ha).
