Golden Gate Park hosts a weekend of live music spread across several stages, each boasting a lineup of world-class talent. Wait, didn't we just do this? Déjà vu aside, the cheekily titled Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival stands out among the growing number of musical mega-events. If top-tier acts such as Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, Odetta, Emmylou Harris, Iron & Wine, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and Loudon Wainwright III (plus a random appearance by MC Hammer) aren't reason enough to attend, the free entry makes checking out the scene easy. If it's pickin', yodelin', rockin', or swayin' that's your thing, you won't hardly have to fret. Just show up early to get a good seat.
