Back when sounds took a while to migrate across the Atlantic, Britain's Greg Wilson was an avid supporter of early NYC electro-funk sounds, mixing cuts from Afrika Bambaataa with his own reel-to-reel edits of rare disco and funk classics. Recent remixes for DFA and Rong prove that Wilson's ear is still in demand, but thankfully he's still pursuing his first passion: DJing. Wilson's recent sets him navigate a clever cross section of dance music's storied history: a smattering of fresh tweaks here; vintage house, electro, and pop there. Tonight's headlining set at Gun Club and the Red Dot's Halloween party promises to showcase the same dexterity.
