East Coast meets West this Halloween at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' New Groove Lounge, where some of New York City's finest musicians provide the soundtrack for a hip-shaking Halloween party. DJ Spooky, fresh from presenting his Sound Unbound anthology at City Lights, brings his legendary skills as an experimental turntablist and remix master, while Forro in the Dark play their own modernized brand of forro — a form of traditional Brazilian party music that makes use of guitars, horns, and zabumba. Whether or not you opt to come in costume, don't forget your dancing shoes.
