BhangraFest is San Francisco's way of vibrantly celebrating one of India's most popular styles of music. Learn the latest moves during dance lessons with Nonstop Bhangra promoters Dholrhythms, then refuel at a cooking demonstration and dinner at an Indian restaurant on October 25. The tenth annual Sisters of Fire Awards, happening in Oakland the following Sunday, honors women activists whose work has been vital to the Bay Area's diverse communities. Emceed by poet Bushra Rehman, the evening also includes performances from Dholrhythms and vocalist Kaylah Marin.
