Fecal Face's Chicago correspondent, Ryan Christian, heads west with a talent pool plucked from all over the map — New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, and LA — with each of the 11 artists lighting out for imaginative territories. Amy Mayfield's bright-hued paint-pours on canvas resemble psychedelic aquariums, while storms brew beneath the nervous, wispy lines of Erin Morrison's nature drawings. Mike Rea carves large-scale wooden space modules and suited astronauts rich in fantastic detail. These artists, their westward expansion notwithstanding, are definitely on the way to somewhere promising.
