Athens, Georgia's Of Montreal have evolved a unique and eclectic musical style that might best be termed "indie glam." Kevin Barnes and his crew have recently integrated more elements of funk and disco, while retaining the pop melodies and quirky song structures of their earlier releases. Barnes has even taken on a Bowie-esque alter-ego á la Ziggy Stardust named Georgie Fruit. He cross-dresses while playing the role, describing Georgie as a black she-male in his '50s who's been to prison a couple of times. It remains unclear whether it was Barnes or Fruit who played half a set in the buff in Vegas last year, and all bets are off as to who will take the stage tonight.
