Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs

Evoking the spirit of Peggy Lee's "Fever," Holly Golightly's honeyed voice courts quiet cacophony, rubbing everything from washboards strummed by metal-tipped fingers to sharp finger snaps. Since leaving neo-garage rockers Thee Headcoatees, Golightly has honed the relatively singular style, each new solo record both improving and building on the last. While she's perhaps best known her covers of Ike Turner and Bill Withers (not to mention her collaboration on the White Stripes' Elephant), Golightly's songs are now ready for a spotlight all their own.
