While describing a band by referencing others is often a veiled accusation that a sound is derivative, sometimes it simply indicates that the sound enters a range of different arenas. The Skygreen Leopards' influences and likenesses aren't even countable on two hands: Oneida, Devendra Banhart, Animal Collective, the Byrds, and Brightblack Morning Light are just a few. Of course, for all their allusions, Glenn Donaldson and Donovan Quinn's California-kissed spacey and psychedelic indie rock is all their own.
