There is an opening reception on Saturday, November 15, from 6–8pm.
The curators, facilitators, and artists at SCRAP refer to themselves as "scroungers" with pride. From found and donated bits of wood, paper, fabric, and other materials, artists assemble sculptures and collages that bear both intimate personal meanings and send a larger message about the vital need to reuse, as all of the artists featured in this celebratory exhibit utilize recycled and salvaged materials. Colette Crutcher, for instance, creates vibrantly colorful scrap wood and metal assemblages, while Emiko Oye crafts impressive pieces of jewelry out of repurposed metal and LEGO pieces.
