With this collaborative exhibit that opens a dialogue on nutrition education, resource scarcity, and urban homesteading, the Rock Paper Scissors collective makes good on that old saw that we eat with our eyes first and then with our stomachs. While the gallery showcases Holga photographs by West Oakland residents who explore public gardens and food growth spaces in the area, Forage Oakland presents city maps highlighting food foraging areas, and various participants host cooking workshops throughout the month. At the opening, youth interns working with Oakland Food Connection and the People's Grocery demonstrate cooking tips and tricks as part of Art Murmur.
