Lucky 13, Huckabay McAllister Dance's newest performance, melds their sensual dancing with elements of fantasy and comedy. Co-directors Emma Lou Huckabay and Jenny McAllister both have a keen eye for creating narrative vignettes through movement, and with Lucky 13, they broach the storybook morality of the Brothers Grimm to include werewolves in tuxedos, Hansel and Gretel on a diet, and other quirky twists on famous fairytales. Combined with the intimate, energetic choreography that characterizes HMD's repertoire, Lucky 13 promises to be another success in the company's mission to "explore, expose, and embrace the soft and seamy underbelly of the human condition."
