Inuit murder mysteries, zombie-fueled romances, and emasculated bodybuilders are just three of the topics ripe for the picking when a finely trimmed selection of Sundance Film Festival shorts come to town. The festival's programmers have whittled the offerings down from 83 to just nine films that allow a glimpse into the whims and perversities of a new cadre of international filmmakers. While much of the material may appear to be mere fluff, don't be fooled by first impressions: Spencer Susser's I Love Sarah Jane is unrivaled for its candid and unsentimental portrayal of adolescent love (albeit set against an apocalyptic backdrop), and Daniel Robins' my olympic summer provides a deeply personal and affecting account of the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis.
