The Painted Ladies, the TransAmerica building, and the Golden Gate Bridge are often cited as prime examples of the Bay Area's architectural beauty, but any discussion of notable local landmarks wouldn't be complete without mention of Timothy Pflueger's work. Writer Therese Poletti teams up with photographer Tom Paiva to examine the legacy of the man responsible for dreaming up the grandest of the gilt palaces that grace our town: the Castro Theater, the Paramount Theater, and Top of the Mark. In addition to his prolific career, Poletti discusses Pflueger's storied collaborations with Ansel Adams and Diego Rivera.
