Equal parts visual titillation and thoughtful exploration, The Vivisect Playset Five dissects the human condition through use of animal characters. Since its relocation to SF last year, the aptly titled annual group exhibition has grown from a showcase of a handful of participants' work to an expansive offering from 30 artists. The talent hails from around the world, and the work is equally diverse: Angry Woebot's monstrous ruminations and Paul Barnes' ephemeral creatures work excellently next to Amanda Visell's evocative menageries and curator Luke Chueh's fuzzy bears gone bad, while much more abounds throughout the gallery.
