Gilbert & George, the art-world enfants terribles in natty bespoke suits, celebrate 40 years of having made their lives their work in this mammoth exhibition (originally launched at London's Tate Modern). Since 1965, when cupid struck the duo at art school, they have cataloged their obsessions (rough trade, bodily fluids, flowers, religion), their times (AIDS and its aftermath), and, most of all, each other, in large-scale, primary-colored photocollages that scan both as personal diary entries and sharp social commentaries. As self-described "living sculptures," Gilbert & George may indeed be the only ones who can truly embody their mantra, "Art for All."
