Based on The Wizard of Oz, Gregory Maguire's Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West reexamines one of pop culture's most iconic villains (and spawned one of Broadway's biggest hit musicals). Taking his retelling to heart, the exhibition Wicked of the West showcases artful variations on characters and creatures from the fantastical land of Oz. Pieces by Amandalynn, Robin Grass, Norm, and Reyes encompass an assortment of media — including tattoo designs, metal sculpture, graffiti, fashion, computer animation, and painting — capturing the essence of Maguire's innovative twist on the classic.
