Taking a subtler, but no less energetic approach, Slavic Soul Party! captures the spirit of traditional music to explore the spectrum from quietly captivating to wildly spirited. Incorporating the diverse influences of klezmer, funk, and jazz, Slavic Soul Party! also welcome American influences with open arms — their experimentation with other genres lends a warm, Western edge to the raucous romps. Local brass menagerie Extra Action Marching Band lead off with their anarchic take on everything from Sousa standards to Black Sabbath covers.
