Strumming a pink ukulele, Uni balances between sweet childhood whimsy and grown-up candor. Clothed in colorful outfits that evoke the '40s by way of the '80s, the petite songstress may admit a fondness for unicorns, but she avoids sugary overkill by virtue of her polished voice and warmhearted lyrics. It's the perfect plinky, wistful soundtrack for urban dreamers. Sharing the bill is LA-based singer/songwriter Laura Weinbach, whose story-driven lyrics and voice recall Cat Power, Nico, and Edith Piaf.
