Self-described as the "Satanic Everly Brothers," the Gutter Twins are Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli, both longstanding alt-rock heroes — Lanegan for fronting the Screaming Trees, Dulli for the perennially underappreciated Afghan Whigs. Named after a weeklong pagan festival, their debut album, Saturnalia, revels in dark feedback loops and growling vocals, with dirges that reinvigorate yesteryear's grunge. Openers Montonix hail from Tel Aviv and have won plaudits for their powerhouse hard rock and frenzied live shows; the indie bigshots at Drag City are due to release the trio's first EP, Body Language, this April.
