Art Deric Carner: Double Heading

Armed with a lexicon of vivid symbols and isolated texts, Deric Carner designs placards that displace icons from their native environments. Double Heading is full of understated, geometric shapes executed in a restricted palette, surrounded by white paper and juxtaposed with esoteric phrases like "Our Greatest Pleasure." While these pairings provide a crash course in the fundamentals of design theory, Carner's works also read like haiku, containing a poetic candor that's all the more touching when coupled with the pieces' cerebral remove.
