More Flavor: Discussion Innovation Salon IV: Scramble This, Ye Scurvy Dog! DRM at World's End

Since the advent of Napster, entertainment companies have been up in arms about the free flow of digital media. The result: digital-rights management (DRM), a form of access control that limits digital media's use. In a panel moderated by artist and UC Berkeley professor Ken Goldberg, research editor Jess Hemerly, Electronic Frontier Foundation attorney Fred von Lohmann, music-rights executive Brooke Wentz, and members of I Am Spoonbender discuss the competing interests of consumers, rights holders, and technology innovators, and DRM's impact on independent media and innovation.
