Music: Rock/Pop Mahjongg w/ Music for Animals and Long Live Logos

Chicago-based music collective Mahjongg tend toward the same sort of upbeat art-rock that Talking Heads perfected on albums like Fear of Music and Remain in Light. But on their freewheeling latest release, Kontpab, Mahjongg accommodate a seemingly limitless array of musical styles. Krautrock, dub, early electro, house, punk and funk are all fair game in the band's musical universe. Openers Long Live Logos and Music for Animals' electro-rock is more conventional, but should provide a nice appetizer in advance of the Mahjongg main course.
