Now a UC Irvine professor, Davis has brought his Marxist-environmentalist perspective to bear on ever-shifting American cities like Las Vegas and San Diego, the world's slums, and even a history of the car bomb. His strident tone tends to attract cries of "alarmist" — but with global capitalism pretty much ensuring the world's one-way trip to hell in a hand basket, we can't say Davis didn't warned us.
