Of San Francisco's many riches, the town's indigenous poets may be its most valuable. Tonight's lineup, organized in honor of National Poetry Month, features three local writers whose poetry continuously asks tough questions and comes up with complex answers. Kevin Killian's Argento Series takes on mourning and melancholia in the age of AIDS via the horror films of Dario Argento. Jocelyn Saidenberg — whose Krupskaya Press publishes Killian's work — also writes eloquently on suffering in Negativity. Meanwhile, George Albon's poetry invents evocative neologisms to expose the difficulties of saying what one means.
