Society's relationship with food is fraught with controversy and emotion — what we eat can just as easily be an aphrodisiac as an arch-enemy. Eighteen artists explore this relationship in Taste 2008, a multimedia show curated by artist and cooking instructor Sarah Klein. At this evening's Root Division fundraising gala, there's more to savor than the thought-provoking artwork. The feast includes gourmet hors d'oeuvres prepared by star chefs, while Ritual Coffee Roasters' espressos and brews from Trumer Pilsner keep the energy buzzing. Prizes in the silent auction include art works and gift certificates to posh eateries and salons — and everyone will have an opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to to win over 50 bottles of wine decorated by the artists.
