Dengue Fever's musical M.O. — lush, surf-inspired psychedelic rock, spiked with Chhom Nimol's shiver-inducing Khmer soprano — is well-known to fans and followers. Since its 2005 release, Escape from Dragon House, the LA six-piece has replaced standard Cambodian pop covers with sets of original songs, and Nimol has beefed up her bilingual chops in a flirtatious, call-and-response dynamic with cohort Zac Holtzman. Tonight, Dengue hit the stage in support of Venus on Earth, their full-length follow-up to Escape from Dragon House.
