The storied Elephant 6 collective has settled comfortably into the indie-rock canon, as fans living far from Athens, Georgia, consider albums by Neutral Milk Hotel and Of Montreal the crown jewels of their record collections. Elf Power give the collective's trademark psych-pop a solidly digestible makeover. Their new album, In a Cave, furthers the crunchy riffs and shimmery orchestration that have propelled their career, though their songwriting now seems more oriented toward texture than the pure hook. Also having done their share of Elephant 6 listening, Flowers Forever and Two Sheds open.
