Music: Rock/Pop Penny Arcade feat. the Cairo Gang, Family Trea, Painted Cakes, and Jonah Rust

Emmett Kelley's name may be unfamiliar to most, but you've probably heard his understated guitar playing if you're a Beth Orton or Will Oldham fan. Kelley is a tasteful accompanist who also plies his own soft-hewn melodies as the Cairo Gang. The Chicagoan's low-key drawl bears a passing resemblance to Oldham's, but Kelley's folksy reflections have a mysterious luster all their own. Also on this semi-acoustic bill are Family Trea, a local psych-folk group with a gauzy sound, and Painted Cakes, the rhythm-heavy project from former Brightblack Morning Light drummer Elias Reitz.
