Music: Electronic Múm w/ 60 Watt Kid

Iceland has an impressive reputation for spawning ambient, quirky, and occasionally neurotic bands and musicians (Björk, Sigur Rós, Bang Gang), and Múm are no exception. The group — at its core comprised of Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, but joined by a fluctuating swell of other musicians — produces dreamy, glitchy pop, punctuated equally by delicate cello lines and laptop beats. SF locals 60 Watt Kid open the show with a goofier version of electronic experimentalism, layering filtered vocal elements with lo-fi fuzz and Casiotone melodies to create their own version of digital cacophony.
