Episodes of VH1's I Love the '80s and 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders might keep memories of OXO's "Whirly Girl" alive, OXO's members are all but forgotten. When Cindy married OXO bass player Frank Garcia, their life together didn't quite live up to her dreams of wealth and glamour. Appalled by Frank's lack of ambition, Cindy relegated her husband to the basement while plotting ways to regain her husband's former glory. Stepson G.J. Garcia's documentary about his stepfather's post-OXO life of weight gain, near bankruptcy, and discordant marriage was featured on This American Life — it's a heartbreaking depiction of dysfunction and the pursuit of happiness.
