New York singer-songwriter Nina Nastasia gets better with every album. Hushed, introspective folk isn't unique in itself, but Nastasia's careful lyrics and heartfelt ennui puts her in league with Neko Case. Though her last record was a series of duets with drummer Jim White, she's now touring solo along with David Karsten Daniels, an oak-voiced songwriter who opens up his Americana melodies with ambitious orchestrations. Local openers Lazarus play broken blues in the key of Nick Cave to intoxicating effect.
