Music: Electronic The Presets w/ Walter Meego

The Sydney-based Presets lug their drums and keyboards halfway around the world to show off the follow-up to their 2005 electro-dance debut, Beams. Armed with a new set of cold, digital beats and Julian Hamilton's insistent vocals, the duo's latest record, Apocalypso, lives up to its name with the end-of-the-world dance riffs found in the addictive single "My People." Openers Walter Meego are decidedly warmer and funkier, anchored by blompy, fuzzy beats and a slick dance-pop aesthetic. With their next album, Voyager, set to hit the streets later this month, the duo (augmented by Andrew Bernhardt) introduces a pile of new material tonight.
