Spanning several blocks in Hayes Valley — including Linden Alley, home to Blue Bottle coffee — the semi-annual Capsule street fair is a festive way to spend a sunny day shopping and mingling. Colorful booths are draped with garments made by local designers, and tables sag under the selection of jewelry, handmade toiletries, stationary, and assorted knick-knacks (from gorgeous leather bags made by Lulu & Mac to slick stenciled T's by My Windup Bird). With Father's Day and the usual avalanche of summer birthdays ahead, Capsule is a good chance to take care of your gift shopping while supporting local small businesses.
