Considering how many times mainstream print journalism has cried wolf over the Internet, it's reassuring to know that underground publishing is alive and well — and coming up with creative ways to stay afloat amid the Web 2.0 sea change. Book It! brings together independent publishers, zinesters, book artists, and freelancers to discuss the challenges of changing media and an often-hostile marketplace. Panelists include art historian Gwen Allen, Whitehot magazine's Noah Becker, conceptual artist and writer Ginger Wolfe-Suarez, and local historian/critic Julian Myers. Many one-of-a-kind publications are on sale, so leaving empty-handed might not be an option.
