Dolores Park hosts a pretty darn festive Cinco de Mayo party. With its central location and a gorgeous view of the Mission, the park is already a popular destination; this Saturday, get there before 11am to find a spot and lay out a picnic spread. Throughout the afternoon, folk dancers, mariachi bands, and singers perform — highlights include the young ensembles Mariachi Estrellas de México and Picante Futuro. It's a family-friendly affair, so leave the brown bags and flasks at home. Instead, enjoy the quality food and bask in the warmth of an old-fashioned communal celebration.
